And to finish this album, here's something I've wanted to do for many years: a remake of my old Snow Halation cover from 2016. In a way I'm glad I procrastinated on making it for so long, because otherwise I wouldn't have made such an enormous improvement over my old cover!
One of the biggest differences between my 2016 and 2023 covers of Snow Halation is that the new one includes the singers' harmonies. I think the added harmonies add a lot of life to this cover, but they also made it tricky to squeeze in other instruments. Luckily, I pulled it off without even using a single arp! That's something both my Snow Halation covers have in common: zero arpeggios. Eat on THAT, you filthy arp spam lovers.
(Ah of course. It's not a cookiefonster chiptune album without at least one rant about arp spam. Tracks 1 and 4 on this album have a sizable amount of arps, but the rest don't.)
I like how my commentary on my Famitracker covers gets more and more detailed each year.
